At the hotel, there will be a games room set aside, which will be open all the time.
Here we hope to have tables permanently set up, so delegates can wander in at any time, perhaps to put in a piece of an unfinished jigsaw, join in a card game or whatever, but the main purpose is to stroll in and mix and mingle with whoever is in there at the time.
If anyone has a pet game they would like to bring e.g. Set, please do.
I also hope to continue the AMIG (Asia Mensa International Games), which had its debut at Guangzhou, and also the Mensa rock-paper-scissors game, which was a huge hit at the 2016 Gala Dinner. We can also possibly arrange international contests e.g. Japan v Korea, in sports such as beach cricket and beach volleyball. (got to give the Aussies some home advantage in the choice of games!)
I have also arranged for delegates to have honorary membership of the Kurrawa Surf Life Saving Club, which is on the beach a block away from the Crowne Plaza. If you wish to go swimming in the sea, there is a patrolled area in front of the club house. Please remember to swim between the flags, as this is the area watched over by the surf lifesavers. You can see the view of the safe area in the picture below, and can just make out one of the red and yellow flags just left of centre on the surf line. The watching lifeguards are up in the yellow tower.
